Media Symposium

The bi-annual Media Symposium, which began in 1994, serves to promote insights into public communication and social change. The Media Symposium has its own book series. The organizers invite communication scholars from various disciplines to discuss an overarching guiding question in roundtables at the conference. The participants’ presentations serve as contributions to the discussion. Insights gained from this discussion are then reflected in authors’ articles for the book series.

Conferences which convey and produce knowledge strongly depend on the quality of debates within groups and in smaller settings. This is why the organizers of the Media Symposium put an emphasis on facilitating a high-quality debate within the conference format.
